چکیده

Selective Nerve Root Block (SNRB) is a precise local injection technique that can be utilised to target particular inflamed nerve root causing lumbar radiculopathy for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Usually, SNRB therapeutic, combination of anaesthetic agent steroid injected under imaging guidance, whereas purposes, just the injected. While ideal treatment strategy relieve from its compressing pathology, steroids targeted at affected also attempted reduce inflammation thus achieve pain relief. Although general principle administering an remains largely same across field, there are differences in techniques depending on region level spine targeted. Moreover, drug combinations by clinicians vary based preference. The proven benefits SNRBs outweigh their risks, procedure deemed safe well tolerated majority patients. In this narrative, we explore existing literature seek provide comprehensive understanding as radiculopathy, indications, techniques, outcomes, complications.

INTRODUCTION Use of Selective Nerve Root Block (SNRB) in lumbar region to relieve radicular pain along the course of a particular nerve is being practiced in the recent past. We observed and tabulated therapeutic outcomes of this procedure in management of radiculopathy induced by a prolapsed disc affecting a particular lumbar nerve root. METHODS 40 patients with various grades of disc prolap...

Treatment Outcomes of Intradiscal Steroid Injection/selective Nerve Root Block for 161 Patients with Cervical Radiculopathy

Patients with cervical radiculopathy (CR) were treated with intradiscal injection of steroids (IDIS) and/or selective nerve root block (SNRB) at our hospital. We retrospectively report the outcomes of these nonsurgical treatments for CR. 161 patients who were followed up for >2months were enrolled in this study. Patients' clinical manifestations were classified as arm pain, arm numbness, neck a...

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Image-guided selective nerve root block/steroid injection is commonly performed for lumbar radiculopathy. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical/imaging characteristics and injection response of adjacent double-root contributions to unilateral lumbar radiculopathy in a typical interventional spine practice. MATERIALS AND METHODS In 132 of 350 patients (3...
